Blog Journal - #1

Hi. I'm Brock. Obviously you already put that together, but I figured I would throw it out there. About me - I'm a senior at FSU, Criminology major, bass guitarist, chess player, videogame collector, audiophile, and hopefully an upcoming attorney. I'm also part of a band back home, which is super cool, and I enjoy journal writing, doodling, debating, and generally just having a good time. I aspire to move on to law school from here, and this class is just another stepping stone in the process to do so.

In terms of my experience with educational technology, I have a thorough resume. I have as much experience with Docs and Slides as anyone who has been in school as long as I have. I am also Microsoft certified, and I have access to their DevKit resultantly. As to be expected, this allows me to work with creator tools that most students cannot. I believe myself to be very fortunate for this. I also have a history of giving presentations and teaching others how to give them, as I am not nervous working in from of others.

Regarding the Personal Learning Networks, GroupMe definitely helps in terms of sharing resources between my peers and I. So long as this doesn't violate the honor code, it is a great method for sharing information that would be otherwise lost in silence. A source that people seldom use these days are books, which fill the shelves of Strozier Library and seem to collect dust more than anything else. These have been a valuable addition to my Personal Learning Networks. Overall, it is both very net-based while still having its place in this world.

  1. Hi, Brock! You have a lot of interesting hobbies! Just out of curiosity, have you written any songs for the band you're in? You seem to have a nice balance of creativity and professionalism. I hope that things work out how you want them to and you get into law school! Good luck!
